I realized that I didn't track a lot of things because I actually have a pretty good memory, but I started to rethink things when I realized I still wanted to use my planning system. I resisted using my planner for tracking housework or daily habits as I saw that as unnecessary for me.

I loved planning as much as always but now what? After graduation, I was writing very little in my planner that had to do with my guys. They began driving and became more independent (which is the goal, right?). Our Friday school close after their first two years of high school. We called ours "Friday School" and we met 3 Fridays every month. A homeschooling mom will also have lots of things to plan: lesson plans, assignments, and often, as we did, will co-op activities as well.
#Planner plus update#
Every time I update the balance, I highlight or cross through the previous balance to help my eyes go immediately to the one that is most current.Ī mom with kids is always going to have things to ntist appointments, doctor appointments, birthday parties, church events, etc. This system helps me quickly get an accurate balance by subtracting any uncleared amounts from what the bank says we have. When they clear the bank, I highlight, or cross through, the item (I also cross them off the calendar for an at a glance visual). As I pay them, I put a little check by the item. I know when each bill is due, but it helps me tremendously to see at a glance what day of the week they fall on in conjunction with payday.Įvery Friday or Saturday morning, I list the bills due that week on the ledger. This insert is my solution.įirst of all is the monthly calendar at the top. However, since there are bills that I pay online that don't come out of my account immediately, I needed a way to keep up with my balance. Until I discovered my new church uses tithe.ly, my tithe check was the only one I wrote every week.

I don't keep a checkbook ledger because I rarely write checks. I have definitely noticed that there is no "one size fit all insert" and that definitely applies to budget sheets. My financial planner sheet has evolved over the years into something that works quite well for me. The grey square is where I write in the date. They are designed to be printed to size on paper that is cut down to 4.25 x 6.75. I use the far outside column for miscellaneous things like the weather, stickers, doodling, a quick note, etc. I have my whole week at a glance while still having plenty of space for each day. Because my days are not as busy as when I was homeschooling my days, I do not need a daily page. I have used different variations of this insert for many years. This insert that I am sharing is 4.25" x 6.75". Maybe someone might be interested? These days I have been all about simple and all about using my compact size planner. Today I went to the effort of making my latest week on 2 pages in a format that can be downloaded. If you have my blog on some sort of notification system, then I guess you'll know if something comes out of here. I'm not sure I would myself because of the inconsistent blogging! and to be honest, I absolutely have no idea if anyone even still looks at this stuff.

I still create a lot of planner stuff that I want to share (when I know it is something someone else might use), but I also want to just blog about what I am thinking, what's going on in my life, etc. Truth be known, I don't know what I am doing with this blog.
