I keep seeing him on TV, desperately campaigning for a "No" vote. I don't normally like to name drop around here-ahem-but one of them you no doubt know of, Ishmael-Jim Murphy. The rest of the UK will probably break up if Scotland votes "Yes." Somehow I can't see the English sticking with just the Welsh and the Irish. She no doubt has a maternalistic feeling towards her country, and famously loves Scotland and Balmoral especially. It must be all very upsetting.Įven the Queen will be genuinely upset I'm sure. Of course he'll lose his seat if it's a "Yes" vote.

While I have no close links to Scotland today I've had close Scots friends in the past. Even I'm feeling it here in Southern England, with no family links to Scotland. I can't see to type too well because I have something in my eyes. I just feel like reaching out today to a group of people who have shown repeatedly that they can disagree whilst remaining friends.Īpologies for an unwonted (and probably unwanted) display of emotion. Tomorrow morning I could wake up to find that the place I have called home for decades is about to become a foreign country. I'm not sure where else to go or what else to do. And I'm posting here because I'm worried sick and struggling to remain my usual charming, calm and personable self.
